Here’s Looking at You Paris: Plus a Rant About the U.S.

Podcast Transcript Paris Walking 3

I didn’t mean to, but I couldn’t help it. While finishing up our walk around the block in the beautiful streets of Paris, I start ranting about how miserable life is in North America. It wasn’t planned, it just happened. Well, I guess I can speak about lovely Paris here and just hope that some of you read it. If you are wondering, the building that I refer to in this episode is the Val-de-Grâce School. Which of course was a Church and then a Military Hospital and currently a museum, hospital, and school specializing in medical research. The hospital located there is famous for treating most of the French Republic’s top officials and anyone covered under the French social security system. It is a historic building considered by many to be the finest example of French baroque architecture in all of Paris. Of course it is. Meanwhile, I’m stuck looking at our latest architectural atrocity currently occupied by an AT&T outlet. Ohh…Ahh…I like blue light because I’m an American.

Very Ape: How I Lost All My Friends

This episode will kick off a series where I take you on a journey into long form video/audio essays. The topics will range from month to month, some of them will be heavily researched deep dives and other will be more like this episode. How I lost all my friends is a personal account of how all the people in my life have demonstrated to me that either they are no longer my friends, or have become unfriendly due to bigotry, fascism, or poor mental health. Either way, I’ve since moved on from all these friends, relatives, and acquaintances. And this is my story of how that happened, how it made me feel, and how I’m not going to embark on a journey of finding new people to be associated with. Join me won’t you.
