Urbanist Savior an Introduction

Join me as I introduce you to my Urbanist Savior show. In these episodes I refrain from ranting and raving endlessly about how terrible everything is here in North America and instead, I offer sound transportation solutions. Urbanist Snark: Amsterdam vs Denver

Welcome. In this episode we are going to discuss how urbanism in North America, specifically Denver, is miserable, and how we can learn from places like Amsterdam in order to improve our lives. Specifically, I discuss how riding your bike is far better than driving your car. Even when you have to go long distances. Like my trip to the outlet mall in Amsterdam. Join me.

How I Lost All My Friends

This episode will kick off a series where I take you on a journey into long form video/audio essays. The topics will range from month to month, some of them will be heavily researched deep dives and other will be more like this episode. How I lost all my friends is a personal account of how all the people in my life have demonstrated to me that either they are no longer my friends, or have become unfriendly due to bigotry, fascism, or poor mental health. Either way, I’ve since moved on from all these friends, relatives, and acquaintances. And this is my story of how that happened, how it made me feel, and how I’m not going to embark on a journey of finding new people to be associated with. Join me won’t you.

HTM: When Do I Get to Murder?

In this episode I address how common it is for conservatives to call for murder to solve our social problems. Whether through capital punishment, lenient gun laws or some other means of torture and death conservative thinkers often seek out whatever “logical reasoning” they can find to justify killing the Other. Join me as I explore the true moral and scientifically sound answer to the question of, “When do I get to murder?”

HTM: The Constitution Sucks and Other Lamentations

In this episode of The Hot Tub Monologues I discuss the shortcomings of our United States constitution, the reality of the Tradwife movement, and how a return to traditional values is just dog whistling for a conservative movement that looks to regain control over women and revert them back into chattel; just like in the Bible. So what is the solution? Tune in to find out.

HTM: We Are All Racist

In this episode of the Hot Tub Monologues I address the well known, but denied, fact that everyone is racist. What sets people apart is their acknowledgement of their bigotry and the work that they do to address who they are, why they are racist, and how they are going to work through their bigotry through therapy.

HTM: Anti Catholic Sentiment

In this episode I recount a story of my experience with a progressive suffering from conservative thoughts. Jessica doesn’t like Catholics and decides to express her hatred in a public setting. Appalled, I do my best to reason with her, but to no avail. Sadly, I had to end my friendship with Jessica due to this bigoted tirade.

HTM: Conspiracy Theories

In this episode I discuss how people suffering from conservatism often fall into conspiratorial thinking. Because they hold beliefs based on faith like: god, the bible, Jesus, and others they aren’t well versed in critical thinking. Thus, they readily and easily believe other nonsense like: flat Earth, lizard people, the mark of the beast, and others. During one of my many social dinners, I was treated to an onslaught of conspiratorial beliefs by an ex-friend of mine named Jerry. Jerry is a moron, and believes nearly everything he sees or hears on: Ancient Aliens, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Fox News, and other uncritical and dubious sources. Join me as I take you through this horrific experience and decode how and why conservatives so readily fall into this type of insanity.

HTM: Violence

In this episode of Hot Tub Monologues I discuss the modern conservative solution to most of society’s problems; violence. The call to violence against protesters, homeless people, drug addicts, and other people conservatives don’t like is all together too common. We see it on the news and in our social circles. People who suffer from conservative thinking are convinced that violence is a solution to many of society’s problems including how to care for their own children. As a progressive, I understand that the solution to our social problems is teamwork, compassion, nurturing, and cooperation. Violence should never be used to solve a problem, and society needs to progress past the need to use violence for any reason.

HTM: Inarticulate Ignoramus

Join me back in the hot tub as I ponder some of life’s most intriguing questions with an inarticulate ignoramus conservative thinker. There I describe how being ignorant and inarticulate goes hand in hand with conservatism and just how unfortunate it is that conservatives fail to take the next step in the learning process.

HTM: Ghosts

Join me for an account of an adorable couple I met in England. Whilst sitting in a pub enjoying a fine English ale, I met a couple who swore to me that they had seen a ghost while vacationing in an old house in Whales. Together we analyzed their account of what happened and through sound scientific reasoning determined that they probably did not actually see a ghost and instead simply had an experience that they were calling a ghost. In my analysis of this conversation I break down the progressive, scientific way to think about these types of occurrences and discuss how conservative thinking often leads to these false conclusions. Join me.
